Agri Business Innovation Challenge 2024

Challenge Synopsis:

 

The Agribusiness Innovation Challenge is sponsored and powered by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) in partnership with Nigeria Climate Innovation Center (NCIC) to select eligible Agro tech startups within the ages of (18years -35years) who currently have products or solutions that speak to Food Supply Chain Challenges in Nigeria with an outcome to achieve better, safe, quality, and healthier nutrition for ALL.

 

Challenge Solution Sectors:

GAIN in partnership with NCIC in the Agro Business Innovation Challenge are looking for eligible Agro tech entrepreneurs or startups with at least a tech driven minimum viable product/solution capable of solving Food Supply Chain challenges in line with any one of the themes provided below:

a. Supply Chain Traceability ( Innovations such as blockchain technology, smart sensors, product monitoring, handling conditions and compliance technology.)

b. Last-Mile Distribution Networks. ( technology-enabled distribution networks/platforms to improve access to agricultural inputs and produce)

c. Climate Smart Financing. (Technology or products that offer innovative financing that addresses climate related risks experienced by agricultural producers)

d. Agricultural Productivity and Efficiency. (Technology that Optimizes processing techniques, equipment, and operations to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality and consistency)

 

e. Post Harvest Loss Management: (Solutions that improve post-harvest handling, storage, processing, and distribution practices)

ABOUT GAIN

The The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss based foundation launched at the United Nations in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with governments, businesses, and civil society, we aim to transform food systems to make healthier diets accessible to all people and especially the most vulnerable, in a sustainable manner. By 2027, we aim to improve 1.5 billion people's access to nutritionally enhanced staple foods, 25 million people's access to healthier diets, and support positive food systems.

The Nigeria Climate Innovation Center was set up by the World Bank and supported by the Federal Government of Nigeria to develop and deploy solutions to climate change challenges in Nigeria by providing venture development and capacity-building support.
