The Sir Lufa Global Farms Limited is a new company which was recently incorporated. The idea for this business emanated from the 'National Youth Service Corps' in Romynan Farms Delta state Nigeria where I was posted to carry out the one year NYSC primary assignment. During the assignment I was trained by the Fadama Intercontinental Agro-Links Nigeria Limited in all areas of catfish farming business. However, after the NYSC I relocated back to the north and resided here in Kaduna state to venture into catfish in order to fill the demand for fish in this environment and the globe at large. Furthermore, the Sir Lufa Global Farms Limited is basically hinged on building standard and the right type of ponds for the catfish farming business, fertilizing the ponds and buying fingerlings for each of the ponds, feed them two times daily till maturity at six months then sale off as fresh or dried fish. Having sold off, we stock again and repeat the process of brood and sale. We shall also go into hatching, organizing seminars and training over time.
The ‘Transforming Nigerian Youths’ program aims to create a network of entrepreneurial and managerial change-makers specifically youths and women across the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) sector in Nigeria but with special interest with those who live in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna states.
This program is brought to Nigeria by the Young Africa Works-Mastercard Foundation in partnership with the Enterprise Development Centre, Pan-Atlantic University.
EDC is teaming up with the Foundation to build the capacity of 40,000 MSMEs with special focus on agriculture and creative sectors especially women-led businesses in Lagos, Kano and Kaduna states. The training will be delivered via EDC’s online learning platform and IVR( Interactive Voice Response) to enable all learners to take part in the lessons on the go wherever they are.
