In order to participate in the kickstart program, prospective awardees are required to fill and submit an application form. In order to be considered for the short listing, applicants are required to meet the following requirements:
I. They must be from 18 years to 35 years.
II. They must be able to communicate in English language (read, write and speak).
III. They must reside in and have their business operations in Nigeria
IV. Their business must be within the following areas
Agriculture
Circular Packaging (e.g. recycling)
Climate Action
Water Stewardship
ICT
Education
Manufacturing/Production
Crafts
Healthcare
Others
V. For existing business, their business must not be more than 3 years.
INTERNATIONAL BREWERIES FOUNDATION “THE FOUNDATION” KICK START TERMS AND CONDITIONS – WARRANTIES, INDEMNITIES AND COMPETITION AGREEMENT
This Warranties, Indemnities and Competition Agreement must be read and signed; by Signing this Warranties, Indemnities and Competition Agreement, each Entrant agrees to the following conditions:
Originality of Entry Proposal, Intellectual Property Warranty and Indemnity: The Entrant warrants that all ideas and concepts set forth in the Entry are the original work of the Entrant, and the Entrant is under no agreement or restriction that prohibits or restricts his or her ability to disclose or submit such ideas or concepts to the Competition. The Entrant further warrants that the Rights of any equipment, materials or reports used in connection with the Rights of the Entrant shall not infringe upon or violate the Intellectual Property rights or Proprietary rights of a third party. The Entrant indemnifies International Breweries Foundation (and its partners International Breweries Plc. and AB Inbev ) against and undertakes that the Entrant shall pay all cost, damages and attorney fees relating to a violation of Intellectual Property rights or Proprietary rights of a third party; and the Entrant shall reimburse International Breweries Foundation (and/or its partners, International Breweries Plc. and AB Inbev) on demand with sums already advanced as price money, all other related cost, damages and attorney fees in connection with such action.
Representing International Breweries Foundation (Kick Start Ambassador): The Entrant agrees to act as a Brand Ambassador to International Breweries Foundation during the duration of the award and shall represent her at functions as requested by the Foundation. The Entrant shall not engage in any commercial relationship howsoever with Competing products/brands or foundations of competing products/brands of International Breweries Foundation during the duration of the kickstart season and 18months thereafter. The entrant further agrees that he/she must inform the Foundation prior to applying for any other grant of entrepreneurship nature.
The Beneficiary: The beneficiary of the award is the Entrant in whose name the application form was submitted; the benefits of the award cannot be inherited, devised transferred, transmitted or reassigned to a third party, privy or partner. The Foundation reserves the right to give monetary award or give equivalent of award sum in equipment form and beneficiary will accept this right as may be exercised.
The Purpose of the award: The award is solely for the Entrant’s business and not for the Entrant’s personal use.
The Award Period: The Award period shall be for one year during which period and shall be disbursed in a manner International Breweries Foundation deems fit and proper. Entrant/beneficiary agrees to the use of his/her image(s), pictures, business story and any related appearances by the Foundation/its partners to be reproduced in any format or medium.
Appointment of Mentors: The beneficiary/Entrant further agrees to have his/her business mentored by an individual International Breweries Foundation shall appoint for this purpose; the mentorship shall be for the duration of the award.
Due diligence, Financial, Credit and Security Check: Not minding that an Entrant has been announced as a Beneficiary of the Award, International Breweries Foundation reserves the right to revoke the award, at any time before the expiration of the award period, where it discovers that the Entrant/Beneficiary made false representations or has violated the Intellectual Property rights of a third party and or any other reason which infringes on the code of business ethics of International Breweries Foundation (and/or its partners, International Breweries Plc. and AB Inbev)
The International Breweries Foundation is an arm of International Breweries Plc,( a proud part of the AB InBev Family) with the objective of delivering impactful, developmental and sustainable projects. Kickstart is an initiative of the Foundation and focuses on enterprise growth and development for young entrepreneurs. The programme supports youth-owned businesses through business training, seed capital and post-investment support – Mentoring.
Kickstart is also available within other countries in Africa, as an initiative of the Africa Zone of the AB InBev Group. The program hitherto has been successfully implemented in South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Swaziland and Tanzania. In Nigeria, the program started in 2016 and has run three editions in the South West and South East region. With effect from 2019, Kickstart has become a national intervention in Nigeria, now open to Youths in the six geo-political zones of the country.
The programme supports youth-owned businesses through business training, seed capital, post-investment support (mentoring and coaching).
